These beautiful polished amethyst crystals are approx. 0.5" in length and sold by the ounce. These stones have hues from a light lavender or pale violet, to a deep purple. Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz and has been used as a sacred stone for thousands of years.

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz crystal, containing traces of iron. It is thought to dispel negativity and create a peaceful environment. In ancient times it was thought to reduce the effects of alcohol due to its similarity in colour to red wine. Amethyst is found in Canada, South America, Africa and India. The stone can be cleaned in fresh running water.
